My name is Lauren Thomander, or Explauren Photography. My home is in Halifax, Nova Scotia—but I love to travel (destination wedding?!).

Blending into the background, I focus on capturing moments exactly as they happen—nothing forced, nothing staged. The quiet glances, the in-between laughs, the feeling of the day as it really was. My approach is simple: you stay present, and I’ll take care of preserving it.

How do I book a photo session with you?

How long does it take to receive the final photos?

It depends on the type of shoot! Weddings typically take 8-12 weeks, while smaller sessions, such as family or couples shoots, are usually delivered within 2-4 weeks. Timelines may vary slightly depending on seasonal demand.

How do payment and delivery work?

To book, a 20% non-refundable retainer is required to secure your date. The remaining balance is due the day of your shoot. After your shoot, I’ll cull and edit your images and put together a curated final gallery. Your photos will be delivered through an online gallery where you can view and download your high-resolution images, and the gallery will be released once final payment has been received.

What is your cancellation/rescheduling policy?

A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to book your session. If you need to cancel, your deposit will not be refunded. If you need to reschedule, please give me at least 48 hours’ notice and your deposit can be moved to your new date, subject to availability.

If you cancel or reschedule with less than 48 hours’ notice, your deposit will be kept and a new deposit will be needed to book another date. If the weather isn’t cooperating, I’m happy to reschedule your session at no extra cost, and your deposit will be moved to the new date.
